The 2025 WA Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Sector Conference artwork was created by graphic designer and artist Kieron Pearce. Kieron is a Goreng Noongar man from Kinjarling (Albany). His work was inspired by this year’s theme, Nurturing a Strong Tomorrow Through Culture, Care, and Community.

This piece starts with our ancestors, symbolised by 24 stars, each representing a guiding light. Journey lines connect these stars to the center, passing through six layers that represent the 60,000+ years of the world’s oldest continuous living culture. The ripples in each layer symbolise the knowledge and culture passed down through generations, like a fingerprint marking our past.

At the centre is a meeting place where people from all backgrounds come together. The first ring shows 24 people gathered around a fire, representing AHCWA and its 23 Member Services, surrounded by dots that symbolise the community we serve and our shared commitment and hope for a better future.

As you move inward, swirling elements lead to a central campfire, a place of deep spiritual significance where stories, memories, and dances are shared. The colours in this piece are inspired by the beauty of a sunset, with yellows, oranges, purples, and blues reflecting the night sky as stars emerge.

This is a tribute to nurturing a strong tomorrow through culture, care, and community.
