2024 Conference Artwork

Synopsis

This piece represents the theme “We are the Change - Breaking the Barriers". The artwork’s centre represents AHCWA and each of Western Australia’s eight regions. Surrounding the centre are 23 circles that represent the Member Services. The circles represent change and illustrate how the Member Services are always moving forward, adapting and pushing through challenges faced throughout their journeys. The small blue lines surrounding the Member Services represent AHCWA and how they support the services to continue to build the footprint as the leading provider of primary health care for Indigenous People. The red and pink lines around the outside of the artwork symbolise the barriers Indigenous communities face. Parts of this barrier are thick and some are thin or even broken. This symbolises how some of the challenges we face are tougher to get through than others. Outside the barriers are numerous shapes and symbols representing our goals, dreams, and hopes for the future. With strength and resilience, in the end, we can always break through and move forward.
